Roads of Success (ROS) is a non-profit organization that has been in Egypt support to Sudanese refugees in Egypt.
Support to Sudanese refugees in Egypt.
The civil war in Sudan has forced many people to flee their homes and seek refuge in neighbouring countries like Egypt. However, once they arrive in Egypt, refugees often face a number of challenges such as limited access to education, healthcare, and employment.
ROS aims to address these challenges by providing refugees with access to basic human needs, education, and healthcare. One of the primary ways that ROS provides support to refugees is through the distribution of care packages. These packages include essential items such as food, water, and hygiene products.
ROS has also been involved in advocacy work, raising awareness about the challenges faced by Sudanese refugees in Egypt. One of the most notable achievements of ROS has been its work with unaccompanied minors.
Overall, Roads of Success has made a significant impact in the lives of Sudanese refugees in Egypt. Through its various programs and initiatives, the organization has provided essential support and services to some of the most vulnerable members of society. While there is still much work to be done to address the challenges faced by refugees in Egypt, ROS has shown that with determination and commitment, it is possible to make a difference. In a world that is constantly changing and evolving, it can be easy to put off taking action to make a positive impact in the lives of others. We may tell ourselves that we will get around to it eventually, that we have plenty of time to make a difference. But the truth is, there is no time to waste when it comes to making a positive impact in the world. Every day that we wait is a day that someone else may be suffering or in need of our help.
Assisting humanitarian organizations is one of the most important ways we can make a positive impact on the world. These organizations work tirelessly to provide assistance and support to those in need, whether it is in response to natural disasters, conflicts, or poverty. By supporting these organizations, you can make a real difference in the lives of people who are struggling and help to build a better world for everyone.
One of the main reasons why it is important to support humanitarian organizations is that they provide essential aid to those who need it most. Whether it is food, shelter, medical care, or other forms of support, these organizations are often the first responders in time of crisis. They work around the clock to ensure that people have the basic necessities they need to survive and thrive, and they do so with a level of compassion and dedication that is truly inspiring.
Another reason why it is important to support humanitarian organizations is that they provide a lifeline to people who might otherwise be forgotten or left behind. In many cases, these people who are most in need of assistance are those who are living in poverty or in areas of conflict. These people often have no voice and no means of getting the support they need, which is where humanitarian organizations come in. by working with these organizations, we can help that these people are not forgotten and that they have access to the support and resources they need to live with dignity and hope.
Furthermore, supporting humanitarian organizations is a way for us to contribute is a way for us to contribute to the larger global community. As citizens of the world, we have a responsibly to help those who are less fortunate and work towards creating a more just and equitable society. By supporting humanitarian organizations, we are doing our part to make the world a better place for everyone, not just those in our own communities.
Finally, supporting humanitarian organisations is deeply fulfilling and a rewarding experience. Knowing that you are making a difference in the lives of others can be incredibly empowering and can give a sense of purpose and meaning that is hard to find elsewhere. It is an opportunity to connect with like-minded individual and to be part of a larger movement towards positive change.
As individuals, we can play a part in this donating our time, resources, and energy to these organisations and by advocating for their causes. Together we can make a real impact and create a brighter future for all.
ROS is working fast to meet the needs of hundreds of families and children who were affected by a catastrophic 7.8 magnitude earthquakes strike that hit many cities and towns in Turkey and northern Syria on February 6, 2023.
As soon as we learned of the disastrous earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, we started working on finding quick ways to support the victims in both countries. Although we are still determining the full scale of the destruction, we already worry that hundreds of people, including many women and children, have perished. There have also been numerous further injuries and destroyed dwellings. These people have nowhere to go, and the icy winter weather makes it even harder for them to survive.
Our team in Iraq is now preparing to travel to Turkey to provide aid, including food, blankets, mattresses and winter clothes to support those affected by the earthquake. Also, we have been on a continuous contact with our partner church in Aleppo, Syria, who was able to support 600 victims and working on supporting more victims. This is in addition to allocating a large part of our upcoming aid shipment to support our loved ones in Syria and Turkey. The shipment will leave this Thursday. Stay tuned for more updates.
We urgently need your donations in order to reach children since we cannot afford to wait. Time is very critical!
In Syria, where the battle has lasted eleven years, hundreds of thousands of people are currently fighting to make ends meet due to economic hardship and relocation. The situation is now considerably direr as a result of the earthquake’s destructive effects. We must act now; kindly contribute to assist us save lives.
You still have the opportunity to expand our impact there on help us reach out to more victims.

“ISIS came.. ISIS came
From Sinjar to the mountain
From the mountain to the village
from a village to another village
We left without a car, we took nothing with us
I was in great fear, we took nothing with us
we went to the mountain with no shelter and no food” Basema, an IDP girl
These were the words of Basema, a beautiful IDP girl, sharing the constant terror her people went through after learning that ISIS took over their village. Like millions of IDPs, Basema was still adjusting to life in a new environment and dealing with the emotional toll of leaving behind her home, family, and way of life. See the story of Basema in the following words.
When ROS visited her camp, she came clinging to Jacqueline Issac, Roads of Success vice president, pants. Basema wanted to feel loved and cared for. She was so excited to finally see people who can speak her language. For few moments, she forgot her tragedy and started playing and sharing her dream of being a doctor and traveling to the United States. Meanwhile she was sharing and learning about hope, a man came to destroy her hopes and said “how dare you tell this girl to hope; can’t you see the clothes that’s ripped up? Can’t you see where she sleeps at night? … Can’t you see that she’s an IDP?” Our hearts were broken because the last message she heard is that there is no hope. Although it was impossible to find the girl one more time, but God is the God of the possible; He had another plan and guided us to reach in front of her tent to deliver her the message of hope and love. She kept hugging and Kissing Jacqueline, telling her “I knew you would come back for me, because you taught me about hope.” This is what a little seed of hope can do to a little girl.
Basema and Millions of IDPs are experiencing social and political instability, conflicts, climate shocks, displacement, violence, food insecurity, lack of education opportunities and access to health care systems. But you can bring them hope and plant new seeds of hope by support the IDPs livelihoods and provide them with the knowledge and abilities they need to prosper, care for their families, and give back to their communities.
Humanitarian aid is intended to assist those impacted by armed conflict and natural catastrophes in order to preserve lives, lessen suffering, and uphold human dignity in times of need.
The concept of humanitarian action has evolved over time and can take many forms. It is linked to a group of fundamental principles as stated in United Nations (UN) Resolution 46/182 (1991): humanity (providing aid wherever it is needed and doing so in a way that upholds each person’s rights and dignity); impartiality (providing aid without bias and in response to need); help without taking sides in disputes of a political, religious, or ideological nature, or acting neutrally (the act of providing assistance without engaging in conflicts); and autonomy (the provision of assistance autonomous from the political, economic, military or other objectives of other actors).
Roads of Success practices in response to the humanitarian principles:
Roads of Success offers humanitarian aid based on needs to those affected by natural and man-made disasters, paying special attention to the most vulnerable victims. No matter of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, country, or political affiliation, aid is distributed impartially to the afflicted communities. Emergency intervention sectors covered by the Roads of Success humanitarian aid include food and nutrition, housing, healthcare, water and sanitation, and education.
Assisting refugees: The Roads of Success provide aid to those who have been uprooted by the conflict. The organization is in charge of directing and coordinating global efforts to safeguard refugees and provide solutions to their difficulties.
Helping children: Since its inception, The ROS has worked to provide children with practical, affordable solutions to the greatest dangers to their survival. Also, the ROS repeatedly calls on governments and belligerents to take stronger measures to safeguard children.
Supporting girls and women: With an emphasis on addressing the health and protection needs of women, girls, and young people, the ROS offers humanitarian assistance related to sexual and reproductive health in many regions. Along with integrated services for mental health and psychological support, monetary and voucher assistance, life-saving sexual and reproductive health care, supplies, and coordination for the prevention and response to gender-based violence.
Make an effort to guarantee that supporting humanitarian actions in new crises does not negatively impact satisfying needs in ongoing crises.
Demand responsibility for carrying out humanitarian actions which are dedicated to encouraging accountability, efficiency, and effectiveness in doing so.
Encourage learning and accountability activities to ensure that its humanitarian actions are carried out effectively and efficiently.
Promote the creation of common reporting formats for donors and ensure a high level of accuracy, promptness, and transparency in donor reporting on official humanitarian assistance spending.

The detrimental consequences of poverty on academic achievement at all levels have been amply documented and widely acknowledged. Even in wealthy nations like the United States, poverty is a persistent reality. Accordingly, children from lower income households perform much worse than children from better income households on tests of language and communication skills, number knowledge, copying and symbol use, concentration span, and cooperative play with other kids. In addition, children from lower socioeconomic status (SES) households performed worse on a receptive vocabulary exam than children from higher SES households. Therefore, it is abundantly evident and undisputed that disadvantaged children have cognitive and behavioral disadvantages during their academic years.
ROS with Kids in Iraq
On this account, intervention aimed at decreasing exposure to risk factors of poverty is of a paramount importance. This is due to the fact that such interventions enhances the opportunity for growth and educational success. Moreover, programs for health prevention and intervention issues (including vaccinations and prenatal care) are connected with improved health outcomes for children from low-income families result in improved mental capacity and better academic achievement. Therefore the goal of the ROSinterventions is to promote a child’s development through a variety of services and supports.
ROS Humanitarian Work with Kids
Our overarching objective is to lessen the effects of poverty and SES on academic success, taking into account the consistent data about the pervasive detrimental impact of poverty on educational attainment and the hopeful positive outcomes of interventions. Some of our achievements rely on the following:
Raise awareness of the short-, medium-, and long-term costs of allowing these children and youth to fail or leave school;
Advocate for and support schools that work to achieve equity of outcomes;
Advocate for and support intervention programs that offer academic, social, and community support to raise the success of disadvantaged children and youth.

Why humanitarian work is important: Humanitarian aid mostly refers to logistical support as well as short-term relief in the form of supplies (such as food, water, and medical supplies). In the wake of different catastrophes (floods, war, disease outbreaks), humanitarian support aims to offer a rapid aid until the government and other groups can create long-term preparations. Lifesaving, suffering reduction, and protection of human dignity are in the heart of its objectives.
Humanitarian help is currently needed by more than 135 million people around the globe.
A total of 68 million individuals worldwide have been evicted from their homes as a result of conflict, violence, and persecution.
Below are top 6 reasons why we need Humanitarian Work:
Emergency support
Humanitarian help provides relief in times of need when the most vulnerable lack access to basic necessities like food, shelter, and healthcare. Help is given according to need, with the intention of saving lives, relieving suffering, and upholding human dignity.
In the event of a disaster, immediate action is required to save lives and meet people’s fundamental necessities. These urgent measures depend heavily on humanitarian players, and the assistance they offer is essential to crisis responses, thats why humanitarian work is important in these situations.
It saves Lives
The primary goal of humanitarian support is to stop the loss of lives, which is the core goal of any humanitarian intervention. Humanitarian help is essential for reducing the harm, suffering, and fatalities brought on by disasters. Therefore, humanitarian actors create and manage a variety of initiatives aimed at addressing people’s most basic needs and promoting healing. Such provision of humanitarian help to those affected by natural catastrophes or armed conflicts is crucial.
Ensuring Nutrition and Food Security
When famine strikes, it is essential that relief be mobilized. Saving lives, securing food supply, and assisting places recovering from food insecurity depend on humanitarian relief.
The improvement of childhood nutrition is another area in which humanitarian help is significant. Millions of kids worldwide are in desperate need of better nutrition and food assistance. NGOs manage humanitarian projects that are crucial to enhancing the nutritional outcomes for undernourished children. Hence, rapid food security and nutrition responses help affected communities recover and save lives.
The Global Health Needs Humanitarian Aid
Humanitarian aid affects global health in a variety of important ways. First, organisations involved in humanitarian work oversee medical and mental health initiatives that aid refugees and individuals suffering from catastrophes. Important health initiatives are carried out by humanitarian and development organisations for the marginalised groups.
In order to combat pandemic breakouts, foreign aid plays a great role in improving global health. Many nations need humanitarian aid to stop disease outbreaks because they lack the resources to do so. Humanitarian aid, in this case, is a necessity because it can stop pandemics
Immunisations, is another reason why humanitarian aid is essential for promoting global health. Once more, several nations are unable to immunise their citizens. Reaching numerous communities with foreign aid helps to improve global health by halting larger disease outbreaks.
Strives to ensure readiness
Humanitarian help has a role in preventing future disasters, among other things. There are many different types of humanitarian preparedness, such as pre-positioning aid supplies, helping vulnerable people get ready, and constructing mechanisms to enhance future responses. When a crisis strikes, preparation saves lives, and efficient crisis preparation depends heavily on foreign aid.
In order to be ready for humanitarian situations, there must be systems in place that enable prompt and efficient aid delivery. International organizations, NGOs, and governments can better prepare for impending emergencies with the aid of humanitarian aid. Humanitarian help is crucial in ensuring that populations in disaster-prone areas are ready for such occurrences.
Through funding from humanitarian organizations, nations that frequently experience crises have been able to improve early warning systems, frameworks for reducing catastrophe risk, and crisis preparedness. Building efficient mechanisms that can lessen the effects of future calamities requires international assistance.
Education to underprivileged children
Due to armed conflicts and poverty, millions of children worldwide do not have access to school. Children around the world who would not otherwise be able to attend school are helped greatly by humanitarian organizations. Furthermore, schools are affected when emergencies strike. While disaster relief efforts are ongoing, humanitarian actors seek to ensure that children’s education may continue. They also help with school reconstruction so that children can resume their studies. These initiatives are just another powerful illustration of how crucial humanitarian relief is.
Humanitarian agencies and NGOs heavily rely on donations, as it is the only source of financial income that enable them to support the vulnerable and build their communities. We urge you to take part in this great work!
