Inspiration found in refugee teenagers San Diego

The Seeds of Hope Gala took place at the Hotel Del Coronado on Saturday, September 27, 2014. Roads of Success and Life Without Limbs hosted the event celebrating their partnership in a teenage mentorship program and a San Diego countywide anti-bullying campaign in San Diego schools.

Roads of Success is making an impact in San Diego on Iraqi refugee children who have had to start all over after escaping from war in Iraq. We have selected seven inspirational children and have matched each of them with a San Diego government leader. We will also be encouraging and and motivating the children to accomplish their dreams followed by a distribution of gifts they had personally wished for.

Our mentor ship program launched today as our boys, Walleyed and Andrew, spent an afternoon with San Diego Sheriff Bill Gore. We are working with our partners including Life without Limbs to make the dreams of Iraqi refugee children in San Diego come true which will be celebrated in a Gala on September 27th, 2014 with Mayor Kevin Faulconer, Sheriff Gore, County Supervisor Rob Roberts, Congressman Juan Vargas, City Attorney Jan Goldsmith and City Councilwoman Myrtle Cole. Each Government leader will spend time with at least one of the seven children to encourage and mentor them.
