Educational Center in Syria

After many years of war and crisis in Syria, many children remain deprived of education.  The education system is fragmented, underfunded, overstretched, and unable to provide sustained services to children in Syria.

According to the UNICEF, there are over 2.4 million children out of schools, nearly 40% are girls. This number has likely increased in 2020 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. One in three schools in Syria are damaged, destroyed and being used for military purposes. As for the children who were able to attend schools, they often learn in overcrowded classrooms, and buildings with inappropriate infrastructure. Moreover, the UN is able to confirm nearly 700 attacks on education facilities and personnel in Syria since the verification of grave violations against children began.

While the war continues and the education remains the beacon for millions of children, the Roads of Success (ROS) interfered to protect and preserve education in Syria. It is the mission of  ROS to provide children their basic human right to receive education. Therefore, the ROS is thrilled to announce the opening of a pioneer educational center in partnership with its local ministry partners in the Governorate of AL-Suwaida, Syria. This step creates a pathway for children to return to learning, supporting them to successfully return to classrooms, and recive learning.

Despite operating in unbelievably dangerous and difficult conditions, the ROS believes that it is fundamental to engage in rebuilding the Syrian society and economy through providing generations a decent education. This does more than just keep children in schools, yet it works towards a better tomorrow for all Syria.
